Most people that haven’t been to DiSC® Profile training, can relate to treating other people how they want to be treated, using the familiar “Golden Rule.”  However, if you use the terms that you learn about DiSC® Behavioral Styles, you realize that people don’t want to be treated the same way you do.  With DiSC® Profile training, you’ll find out how to use the “Platinum Rule” and treat others in the way that they want to be treated. Based on their DiSC® Behavioral Styles of course.

People with different DiSC® Behavioral Styles want and need to be treated differently, persuaded in different ways, and motivated differently too.  So try to talk to others using their behavioral style.

If you learn to understanding DiSC® Behavioral Styles besides your own you can improve communications, reduce stress and improve productivity within your organization.

Here are a few tips for speaking the DiSC® Profile language to the 4 different behavioral styles!

High D Personality

“D” – Dominance

Often people with a D style place emphasis on shaping their environment and overcoming any opposition to accomplish their results.

The Dominance Characteristics

Motivated with Action & Challenge Provide them challenging opportunities
Prioritizes Action & Getting Results Present a bottom line – briefly
Are limited by their impatience Show them what you Expected
Fear being taken advantage of Focus on the solution rather than problems

High I Personality

“i” – influence

Often people with an “i” style place  emphasis on shaping their environment by influencing and persuading others.

The influence Characteristics

So you would…

Are motivated by social recognition Give them public recognition if appropriate
Prioritize taking action – enthusiastically Focus on their positives
Are limited by lack of follow through Don’t overload them with details
Fears the loss of influence Allow them time to ask questions
Values the freedom of expression Try not to interrupt them

 

High S Personality

“S” – Steadiness

Often people with an S style place more emphasis on cooperating within existing circumstances to get a task done..

The Steadiness Characteristics

High C Personality

Often people with a C style place more emphasis on trying to work conscientiously within their existing circumstances and to ensure quality and accuracy.
